Saturday Community (Student Talk by Sheryl Gyonyo Hamilton) - ON SITE (in Zendo)

Student talk will be given by Sheryl Gyonyo (形如) Hamilton, student of Kwong-roshi, following 10:30-11:00 am zazen.

Sheryl has been a student of Vipassana and Christian contemplative prayer since 1993. Most of her teachers have been trees and rocks. She has been a student of Kwong-roshi since 2016 and took jukai in 2019, was given the dharma name Gyonyo which means “Form of Reality”. She served as Shuso (Head Student) leading the intensive summer practice period in 2022, giving talks, providing interviews and guiding students through the daily schedule. Professionally, Sheryl offers Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy to three Secwepemc communities in the interior of British Columbia. She also travels around Canada teaching other people this form of touch-based trauma resolution therapy. She lives in B.C., Canada with her husband, their two sons, a couple of dogs, and a tortoise.
