Meditation and Dharma Talk
Our Saturday Community program provides a wonderful opportunity for first time visitors to experience the spirit of Zen practice on a weekend. For those who are new to Zen, please join us for our Saturday meditation instruction from 9-10:00am by registering through our event calendar. This program is available most Saturdays but not all, so please check our calendar and register to attend. A period of Zazen follows at 10:30am with Dharma talk at 11am. A delicious vegetarian buffet lunch is served at 12:00 noon in our Sangha House or outdoors during the warm weather days of spring and summer.
$15 Admission / Open to the Public
Marrow of Zen Practice
For those who are already familiar with meditation practice or have participated in our Saturday meditation instructions, we recommend that you join us in our early morning program from 5:15am to 7:30am, as it is the marrow of Zen. This pre-dawn practice captures the essence of Zen expressed in forms and rituals in the meditation hall. The depth of our being is realized with the gradual rising of the sun, the profound silence, and the discipline awakening within, as we sit in the zendo under the redwoods.
For the early morning Zen practice, you are welcome to stay overnight on Friday as part of our guest practice program which includes the entire Saturday program. Members stay overnight for free (based on available rooms). You are welcome to participate in the entire Saturday Program or only part of it. Please contact us to book your stay.
