About Shuso: Alfred Chozetsu (超絶) has practised with Zen in Iceland – Night Pasture since 2013. He received Jukai from Jakusho Kwong‑roshi in 2016 and was given the dharma name Chozetsu, meaning “Transcending Words.” In 2018, he took over the role of Kanin from Helga Kimyo-roshi, serving as general manager and board chair of Zen in Iceland – Night Pasture. He is currently preparing for Tokudo ordination as a lay priest with his teacher Ástvaldur Zenki‑osho, planned for autumn 2026. Alfred is the founder and CEO of a 35‑person software vendor and consultancy company. He lives in Reykjavík with his wife Hjordis of over 33 years, and together they are blessed with three children and two grandchildren.
