Saturday Community (Senior Student Talk by Tensan Chuck Ramey) - ONLINE (on Zoom)

Student talk will be given by Tensan (天山) Chuck Ramey, Leading Teacher of South Sound Zen in Tacoma, Washington, following 10:30 am zazen.

Tensan has been a student of Kwong-roshi for more than 20 years. He received Jukai from Kwong-roshi in 2002, was given the dharma name Tensan which means “Sky Mountain,” and was ordained as a lay priest in 2014. He lives with Karen, his wife of 55 years, in Tacoma, Washington where he leads the South Sound Zen affiliate sitting group. He first met Hojo-san (Nyoze Kwong-roshi) in New Mexico at Upaya Zen Center in 1999. Through Hojo-san he met Jakusho Kwong-roshi. Tensan has served as President of the SMZC Board of Trustees since 2017. He and Karen are blessed to have two wonderful children, three grandchildren, a great grandson, and great granddaughter.
