Saturday Community (Talk by Tom 'Jakuryu' Huffman) - ONLINE (on Zoom)

Talk will be given by Tom Jakuryu (寂龍) Huffman, a student of Kwong-roshi, following 10:30 am zazen.

Tom Jakuryu Huffman, Silent Dragon, has been a student of Jakusho Kwong-roshi since 2008 and received the precepts from him in 2012. Since that time, he has worked as a Land Steward at Genjo Ji where the 81 sacred acres of mountains, meadows and redwood-lined creeks have stewarded him.

Over the course of his career, he worked as a medical photographer, as an alpha member and caretaker of a large pack of hand-raised gray wolves. He started his CA civil service career working for the local State Park District and then moved on to lead groundskeeper at Sonoma State Hospital. The last 25 years of his career were spent with California Department of Fish & Game restoring industrial salt ponds and diked agricultural Baylands back to tidal salt marshes around the northern edge…
