Kashin Kwong will participate in several ceremonies at Daihonzan Soto Zen Head Temples Eiheiji and Sojiji. This ceremony confirms Kashin’s Shiho Dharma Transmission from Jakusho Kwong Roshi Fall 2024 and acknowledges Kashin’s training at Aichi Sermon Nisodo Nunnery in 2018.

About This Event

Kashin Kwong will participate in several ceremonies at Daihonzan Soto Zen Head Temples Eiheiji in Fukui and Sojiji in Yokohama Japan. This ceremony confirms Kashin’s Shiho Dharma Transmission from Jakusho Kwong Roshi Fall 2024 and acknowledges Kashin’s training at Aichi Sermon Nisodo Nunnery in Nagoya Japan in 2018. Zuise means “abbot for one night” at each of the main Soto Zen training monasteries—Daihonzan Eiheiji and Sojiji in Japan certifying Kashin on her way to becoming a teacher in the Soto lineage. 


Eiheiji was founded by Eihei Dogan Zenji in 1244 and Sojiji was founded by Keizan Jokin Zenji in 1324. Kashin Kwong will officiate morning services paying respects to Dogen Zenji and Keizan Zenji in Eiheiji’s and Sojiji’s Hatto’s (Dharma Halls) and Kaisando’s (Founders Halls).


Nyoze, Kashin and their son Ejo will begin their pilgrimage visiting Rinsoin SMZC’s mother temple and Suzuki Roshi’s family temple in Yaizu, then later spending…
