Saturday Community (Talk by Tensan Chuck Ramey) - ON SITE (in Zendo)

Talk will be given by Tensan (天山) Chuck Ramey, Leading Teacher of South Sound Zen in Tacoma, Washington, following 10:30 am zazen.

Tensan has been a student of Kwong-roshi for more than 20 years. He received Jukai from Kwong-roshi in 2002, was given the dharma name Tensan which means “Sky Mountain,” and was ordained as a lay priest in 2014. He lives with Karen, his wife of over 57 years, in Tacoma, Washington where he leads the South Sound Zen affiliate sitting group. He first met Nyoze Kwong-osho in New Mexico at Upaya Zen Center in 1999. Through Nyoze Kwong-osho he met Jakusho Kwong-roshi. Tensan has served as President of the SMZC Board of Trustees from 2017 to 2025. He and Karen are blessed to have two wonderful children, three grandchildren, a great grandson, and great granddaughter.
