The Waters of Compassion: The Waters of Zazen

The cries of the world are not merely human cries but the cries of all sentient and non-sentient beings. Kuan Yin, Kanzeon, Tara as she is sometimes known or Avalokiteshvara (the male emanation of Kuan Yin) is the main protagonist in The Heart Sutra and the Universal Gateway Chapter in the Lotus Sutra. We sing her praises in the Litany of the Great Compassionate One and call her name Kuan Yin: a deep listener and the observer.
