Sonoma Mountain Zen Center hosts many meditation and mindfulness group retreats. We are situated on a sacred mountain, used in previous centuries as a Pomo Indian ceremonial ground. Over forty years of Zen temple practice permeate this peaceful, supportive environment. The grounds encompass 81 acres of rolling hills and forests and overlook the Valley of the Moon. We are surrounded by groves of redwoods, madrone, and oak trees, as well as wild deer, birds, and open space.
We are located twenty minutes from Santa Rosa, and one hour north of San Francisco. Our facilities include a meditation hall converted from a turn-of-the-century redwood barn with pinewood flooring and surrounded by redwood decks, a cozy dining room, and a beautiful bathhouse inspired by the art of Japanese joinery. Overnight guests can sleep in yurts and rustic cabins built from reclaimed materials. Delicious vegetarian meals are provided, as well as tea and coffee.
Our space can accommodate up to 30 people as overnight guests. Minimum of 15 people for group reservations. Retreats can span three to ten days.
